My Sacred Collection of Poetry

This page will be dedicated to all the poems & poetry I've written throughout my life. The majority of these poems have never been read by anyone. Hopefully you'll find joy & comfort in them. The poems in my collection span a wide variety of topics/themes. I plan on continuing to add more and more poems as time passes, old as well as new. So be sure and bookmark this page, to come back for new updates. That's if you like my poems..... Enjoy!

*That picture belongs to me and was taken at a park, in a town I once lived.
All the photos on this pages are my own, unless otherwise stated/linked/credited.

All of these poems are my own and are subject to copyright!

Sadness & Lost Loved Ones

First off, I want to add two special poems I wrote in 2005. I wrote these poems about 2 different loved ones. Family members that I've lost. These poems were written when they were still alive.

When loved ones die, it feels like there are holes in our hearts, an emptiness . An emptiness that hurts! Holes that feel like they may never be filled. But we fill those voids with the great memories, of the ones we've lost. I truly believe that their spirits live on, through us & beyond.

Ok, on to the first poem.......

Missing Mandy

In the summer of 97,

came a little slice of heaven,

so small with a big heart,

from a family tree with beautiful names,

on her lay an ocean of blue and white,

so curious and so full of life,

there was no doubt that with her, we will never be without,

from bad habits to obedience and through the rest of her days,

she has, and will never be without, unending love,

whether it's sounds of joy, or sounds of delight,

or the sounds of fright, or the night,

she will always be there, with a steady stance,

guided flight and majestic might,

as she gains more years, more freckles appear,

each for memorable moments in time,

from playing to laying, to greet us at the door,

to rolling on the floor, with a basket full of toys,

and the perfect amount of noise,

someday she'll get to run off,

and we can't make her stay,

but until that day, of old and grey,

here she will stay, in our hearts,

and with our souls, Forever!!!

Mandy, an old english sheepdog. She was 11 years old when we had to put her to sleep. It was heartbreaking! Her hind legs were so bad that she couldn't stand on them without plopping/dropping down. When her hip joints first started getting bad we bought her joint medicine. It was working great and she was better than she ever was. She could have gave her younger self a run for her money.

But, much like Charlie from "Flowers For Algernon" & Robert DeNiro's character in "Awakenings" such a thing wasn't meant to last. She gradually got worse and the medicine didn't work anymore. We kept using a towel to hold her up to take her out to go to the bathroom and get food & water.

She is sorely missed!!! Sometimes i see her out of the corner of my eye.

I often dream about her.

Bunny Bunny! "Tess"

A ball of pink and white,

a snowstorm in the summer,

around the legs she goes, in and out, out and in,

playful days and playful nights,

powderpuff everclean,

a fluffy white tail starts the charge,

little hmmphs of energy,

speed circles, quick stop and goes,

jumps, hops and tip toes,

careful strides and curious travel,

short naps with long legs,

reinforced makings for quick hastings,

sharp nails for braking,

plops and crashes and pitter patterns,

natural shreds and ripping matters,

beneath her curious and sometimes easily frightened eyes,

lays a carefree, beautiful endless love,

a love of comfort and a love of life.

Tess was 4 years old. She had free run of the room. I had everything bunny proofed. Cords were inaccessible. As were any other elements that she was not to get into for concern of her well being or for damage to property. Seeing as how bunny's like to chew everything they can get their teeth on lol.

She became ill during the last week of her life. She kept sleeping more and was uncomfortable and finnicky. I went to comfort her and she started to run in a panic. As I pulled her closer, she started to collapse and faded away right next to me....looking into my eyes, with peace in hers.

I kissed her and talked to her. Eventually i placed one of my favorite shirts on her. A shirt with a picture of a Phoenix.

Sometimes I'll feel something brush up against my leg, like she's running around them.....

I look down and there's nothing.

Dazzled Dream

Oblivious made beautiful,

momentous shaded wonderful,

innocence, elegance, instant faint acquaintance,

presumptive, pleasantly appealing,

scented feeling, scrumptious emotions,

doubtless, passion concealed, spontaneously revealed,

rare, alluring aura, charmingly strong,

modestly pure, the one and only cure,

clarified to a seldom few, sprinkle, only you,

Love is true, confused, misused, never again abused,

I, most likely to lose,

Sore no more, Endless waters, Rainbow colors,

Everlasting Truth, Splendid Glimmer, Luminous Shimmer.

Permanent Change

*You have to remember, that the only thing Permanent is Change*

(This is a poem i wrote for a school paper that was due)

Change can change everything,

change makes you older, and fun is over,

it moves you place to place, or even your face,

this can emulate death, also total regret,

change makes one sad, makes some attitudes mad or bad,

it is a way of nature, for immature or mature,

politicians say they can do this, but that's like making a wish,

the conjecture makes the best of the surroundings, but it doesn't matter,

here comes another town again, the consequence of the change, is movement,

movement has been the result of relationship, nevermind that, there goes another friendship,

miscommunication and alteration, induce damnation,

"The more things change, the more they stay the same"

by this, change is good and people say it's not to blame.

Change: Before & After

(Another poem about change. This one was written after the previous.)

*(I'm unsure of how long after the previous, it was written.)

Time passes to a new set, wandering thoughts take in regret,

a mess lays plain in brain, why does one fall over and again,

choice needed for two, what would you do?,

try hoping the best, and forget the rest,

play by the rules, to be with fools,

smart, incisive, i cannot live,

sick of it all, with both ends i fall,

grasping for air, for one who cares,

messed up with one too many, they stay dressed up and it sure as hell isn't funny,

why wear this mask?, I only ask, waiting, hoping, debating, choking,

this topic stresses and destroys me, one mocks it, messes and deploys me,

acting the way I do, could categorize me as you,

no more this way, I've stayed too long over delayed,

be myself, for no health, summer days were the way to play,

hardly no regret, party and just forget,

Starting over new, now no more blue, All Good and You!?!

Summer & The Fourth of July Poems

I have 2 poems for Summer, one that squeezes the juices out of the essence of Summer and one for the spirit of The 4th of July!

*I originally had these poems on another site and just linked them here but, I have since removed them, from there, and have put them here, directly in text, not by way of linkage. I hope you enjoy them!

The Essence of Summer

Whether it's a summer by the lake,

a summer in the city,

or a summer at camp,

we'll be soaking in the rays,

with cool campfire nights & warm adventurous days,

a summer job equals summer cash,

vehicle gas to get to the water splash,

barbecues & lemonade,

fireflies caught & memories made,

from small activities, to vacations planned,

with friends & family hand in hand,

so bring your camera and your heart,

the summer's about to start!

What We Stand For!

A time for celebration,

on a day of remembrance,

of the good men who gave their lives,

for our Independence,

oppression & tyranny no more,

Freedom & Equality Forever More,

for future worlds & past wars,

let's carry the torch another four score,

our countrymen diverse,

over injustice we traverse,

from bitter struggle to open course,

by means of pacifistic remedies or righteous force,

we must continue to salute, The Red, White & Blue,

for it's compassion & conviction, are always true,

so as the fireworks light the sky,

embrace the motto, Live Free Or Die!

The Journey of Life

In a flash the arduous journey begins. Steadily racing through habitations unknown. From a mere obscurity to the opposite end of the spectrum. In all things are infinite possibilities. Exceeding beyond the threshold to grasp that which cannot be held by physical expectations. To manifest memories and manufacture reactions to a bevy of life's multitudes. Acquiring wisdom from the mundayne to the absolute peak of the proposition. Ultimately upon learning that & purpose serving, which we are meant to, returns us to whence we came.

Advancing forward, ever so slightly, toward.......

Antiquities

How I pray for heavens dust,

the beautiful colors of the mist,

to bathe in, to replenish,

perfectly enamored & enthralled,

flowing throughout & deep within,

no beginning, no end,

tranquil sounds of sweetness,

a love undying, forever life,

the taste of emerald waters,

the smell of pink air,

the touch of blue crystals,

purple tangibility & golden warmth

How To Write Professionally

Maybe you want to write a poem, a short story or be really brave and write a novel, then here are some books to read that will help you write.....

Don't be afraid to write, just write, anything, anything at all!

The Symphony Of War

Under the cover of nightfall,

the soldiers travel,

in orchestral movement,

with their instruments so bold,

ever so cautious,

of the enemies music not to play,

making notes of trip lines & wires barbed,

strafing from chords of projectiles & combustion cantatas,

constantly avoiding the lullaby of bereavement,

whilst enforcing peace, with their musical munitions

I Am The Wind!

I am the wind, the wind am I,

feel my graceful strength,

I move across all land & sea,

this world turns & churns, creating me,

sustaining, thriving life,

flowing in & throughout,

a driving force of elements,

fire, water, ice, sand, dry & wet, I carry thee,

powering up & down like waves of water,

brushing the leaves & flowing through the grass,

I am the air, the air am I

Winter & Spring's Love Affair!

Sparkling snow,

refracted light,

illuminated darkness,

a beautiful night,

my breath so warm,

the air so cold,

the blankets of powder,

I shovel and fold,

with trees so full,

and skyline cloudy,

to free the lull,

the wind howling, so loudly,

the sun rises,

and kisses the ground,

leaving melted love puddles all around,

the dripping wet

and drying off,

the green and brown,

mushed so soft,

brushing off,

the birds begin to sing,

spotting food,

Thank You Spring!

Midnight Snack Poem

My brother is the type of person who awakes from his slumber and sets off into the kitchen, in search of some food, in the dead of night...

I wrote this next poem about my brother and his midnight snacking - I think it's pretty funny!

That picture, next to the poem, is that of his usual cereal dish and spoon, resting & laying in wait on the kitchen counter, clean before he eats and then after... with milk resting at the bottom.

A little backstory on the title of the poem: He's been nicknamed Mouff(a playful word for mouth) & we even call him mouth, as well(among other things).

So goes the title of the poem...

My Brother's Midnight Snack Cereal Bowl & Spoon
My Brother's Midnight Snack Cereal Bowl & Spoon

"Midnight Mouth"

Hide your food,
hide your snacks,
because, at midnight, mouth attacks,

he'll eat your treats,
and eat your goods,
so you'd better hide them in the forest,
he won't go into the woods,

there you're safe,
there he will not find,
all your tasty wafes and chocolate mines,

but if your delicious morsels,
are left unattended,
in his zombie sleepwalking feeding frenzy,
with your perishables undefended,
he will devour them,
and follow up with "And thennn...."

with his eyes closed and a smile on his face,
he will consume your nourishments without disgrace,

he is content, with his crunchy, milk filled cereal,
the clangs of silver spoons on porcelain bowls,
heaven help you, if he runs out,
or your food he will seek out,

shhhh......I thought I heard Midnight Mouth!!!

* I wrote this poem at night, right after he woke up and headed downstairs for a midnight snack. I love the "shhh..." ending because I heard him again, afterwards, when he was on his way back up, after filling his belly with grub. lol
